COOK ISLANDS
The Cook Islands relaxed tranquil way of life is matched only by the people themselves. Their smiles are warm and spontaneous, their dancing is joyful and exuberant, and the general mood of the islands relaxed.
The Cook Islands consist of 15 islands scattered over some 2 million square km of the South Pacific Ocean.
They lie in the South Pacific Polynesian Triangle, flanked to the west by the Kingdom of Tonga and the Samoa’s and to the east by Tahiti and the islands of French Polynesia. The Cook Islands are in the same time zone as Hawaii and are the same distance South of the equator as Hawaii is north.

Things To Know Before You Go

Power Up
Electrical outlets in the Cook Islands are the Australian AS-3112 type. If your appliance's plug doesn't match the shape of these sockets, you will need a travel plug adapter in order to plug in and power up. We suggest a power converter kit to cover all bases.

What to Pack
Keep it casual - remember you are on island time. Pack light tropical layers for both men and women and don’t forget these essentials: Sunscreen, brimmed hats, sunglasses, swimwear, reef shoes, bug repellent, prescription medicines; sweatshirt or light jacket and camera.

Required Travel Documents
Visitors must have a passport valid for six months and return airline ticket. No visa is required and 31 days entry is granted.

Know When To Go
Peak Season is from June to August and is the driest time of the year. Temperatures hover around 77°F and humidity is at a minimum. December to March is considered off-season as it is the rainy season with occasional hurricanes. Our favorites are the shoulder seasons from April to May and from September to October when you will enjoy warmer temperatures and reduced humidity.
How to Get There
The Cook Islands are located south of Hawaii. Air New Zealand offers flights from Los Angeles to the main airport of the Cook Islands which is located on the island of Rarotonga.
